We're building the economic infrastructure for the internet, powering millions of businesses around the world. We continue to innovate across payments, financial services, and AI-driven commerce to help companies grow faster. Our Sales Development Academy is one of the premier entry-level business programs in the world. Are you ready to join the team?
The academy is designed to support you from day one, helping you ramp quickly, understand your role, and map your path to the next step in your career. Through live workshops, interactive courses, and experiential learning, the program provides a personalized learning pathway that evolves as you progress. In fact, over 50% of our Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) graduate to full-cycle sales roles, known as Account Executives (AEs), at Stripe.
My experience at Stripe combines exceptional training, innovative thinking, and a genuine desire to excel. I came in with no finance or tech background, but Stripe taught me to be resourceful from day one. Everyone—from managers to account executives to solution architects—is invested in your growth and will jump in to offer guidance because they truly care about your success. The SD Academy gave me the foundation I needed, teaching me the payments ecosystem and how to facilitate conversations with CEOs, product leaders, and founders. Since then, the organization has challenged me to think strategically, be creative, and build skills that extend far beyond this role. It's an environment where you're constantly learning, surrounded by incredibly talented people, and equipped with the tools to advance your career. You're always raising your standards, but you're never doing it alone.
I joined Stripe for its innovation and growth opportunities, and looking back, I feel incredibly lucky! What stands out most is the genuine commitment to setting every rep up for success through all stages. The ramp was structured and thorough—product training, real customer use cases, and hands-on coaching gave me confidence from day one. My manager and teammates have been incredibly supportive, always willing to answer questions, role-play, and share insights that accelerate learning. Stripe's investment in training doesn't stop after onboarding; continued enablement keeps me building skills for both my current role and my next career step. The combination of a fast-paced environment, strong manager support, and relentless learning culture sets you up to truly grow and succeed. I couldn't recommend Stripe enough for anyone curious, driven, and ready to grow.
Starting my corporate career at Stripe was both an incredible opportunity and a bit intimidating. From day one, the Sales Development Academy provided the perfect foundation, taking me from the basics to mastering our prospecting tools and sales strategies. Every day presents new challenges and endless opportunities for growth and continuous learning. My manager offered invaluable knowledge during our weekly sessions, while my spin-up buddy was always available for day-to-day questions. Stripe is truly one of a kind in how they prioritize personal growth through structured SD Academy levels and mandatory bi-weekly coaching. I'm not just staying on track—I'm consistently staying ahead of the curve. Approaching my one-year mark, I feel well-prepared and incredibly excited to take the next step toward becoming an Account Executive!
Coming out of college, I entered Stripe’s Sales Development Academy with a curiosity for tech and a desire to make an impact despite being new to the payments space. The program’s enablement and feedback-driven approach taught me foundational sales skills and helped me progress to SMB Account Executive within 18 months.
What stood out was a culture of high standards paired with genuine mentorship. Access to world-class systems, structured enablement, and supportive peers pushed me to bring my best every day. Now, as an AE, I’m proud to have come through the SD academy and excited to see other SDRs continue to thrive in the same systems that fueled my growth.
I joined Stripe in 2021 as an SDR on the Enterprise Platforms team, and from day one I was immersed in a culture that combines high standards with real opportunity. The onboarding experience gave me the foundation to navigate complex organizations and engage senior stakeholders with confidence. My growth was accelerated by the opportunity to join a pilot team and help build it from the ground up. With consistent coaching and candid feedback from my manager, I advanced to an Account Executive role on the existing business team. Today, I’ve come full circle as an Sales Development Manager leading my own team. Looking back, the combination of structured development, stretch opportunities, and strong leadership support set me up for success, and I'm excited to help develop the next generation of SDRs at Stripe.
Stripe’s interview process utilizes structured, competency-based hiring to assess all candidates interviewing for the same job. Each meeting will focus on a different aspect of your skillset using these formats:
Behavioral: questions that are designed for you to describe your approach to real-world scenarios from your recent work experience (e.g., “Tell me about a time when...”).
Hypothetical: you’ll be asked to walk the interviewer through how you would strategize and work through a theoretical situation.
We strongly advise using the STAR method to keep your answers structured and detailed.
Situation: Set the scene and give the necessary details of your example
Task: Describe what your responsibility was in that situation
Action: Explain exactly what steps you took to address it
Results: Share what outcomes your actions achieved, preferably with data and metrics
Proficiency in English is essential, as it is the primary language used for collaboration across Stripe. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to fluently read, speak, and write in English to be considered for any position.
As a global company, we kindly request that your resume be written in English. This will ensure it can be effectively reviewed by our international team.
Each stage has a defined “Score to Progress” threshold and a set number of required milestones. You earn points by completing the curriculum, hitting your monthly targets, and participating in optional learning. Once you reach the threshold and complete the required milestones, you become eligible to advance to the next stage.
Beginning in Stage 3, the program becomes tailored to your development journey. Instead of generic training, you will receive “smart course” recommendations based on opportunities identified in your SDR 360 Competency Assessment. For example, if you have a gap in objection handling, you will be recommended targeted courses to strengthen that skill.
